Myrcene
Myrcene is part of the family of terpenes or monoterpenes and is therefore known to have the following properties:
- Lymphotonic, phlebotonic
- Digestive stimulants
- Atmospheric antiseptics
- Cortico-adrenal stimulants
- Antiviral
- Balsamic expectorants
- Analgesic
In its pure state, an essential oil mainly composed of terpenes or monoterpenes can cause irritations, the intensity of which depends on the patient's skin sensitivity. This irritation can be relieved by the local application of vegetable oil. Essential oils of turpentine and juniper can cause inflammation in the kidney in patients with kidney insufficiency.
Myrcene is a molecule present in the following essential oils:
- Sweet orange (Citrus sinensis)
- Thyme linalol (Thymus zygis)
