For us, reliability means being able to provide our customers with high quality products at a fair price, and all this in a sustainable manner. But above all, it is not enough to say so. For each of our products we provide detailed documentation: A technical data sheet, drawn up by our laboratory and our field teams, to inform you about the origin of the product, the country where the plant was harvested, the country of manufacture, its main components as well as its organoleptic and physico-chemical characteristics A safety data sheet, drawn up by our regulatory department, which summarises the legal classifications, the risks and precautions for use, transport and storage An allergen certificate and an IFRA certificate according to the latest regulations and recommendations, to inform, prevent and enable you to adapt your uses and preparations as best as possible A certificate of analysis for each of your products, accessible in your customer area, which details the results of the analyses in our laboratory of the precise manufacturing batch from which the natural extract we have supplied you is derived Certifications and labels when possible: BIO, COSMOS, FFL (Fair For Life) Such a level of documentation and transparency is unique. Authenticity and transparency on the products and their origin
Controlled quality and a guaranteed origin imply the search for the best plant raw materials and the securing of reliable sources of supply. This is why, in addition to having 7 cultivation and production sites in several countries such as Bulgaria and Madagascar, we apply a strict and reasoned sourcing approach with the aim of fair and sustainable production.
The Earth and people
A high quality natural extract starts with a terroir, a climate, and quality plants that thrive in their environment. Then come the people, with the method of cultivation, the method and the time of harvesting or picking, followed by a rapid extraction with the appropriate technique, most often by steam distillation. Various controls along the chain and long experience allow us to optimise the quality of the extract, its organoleptic and aromatic properties, odour, colour, concentration of active molecules, and to avoid undesirable alterations and residues. And to achieve this in a sustainable way, we must also ensure that we respect nature, save resources, do not exhaust or pollute the soil, and respect people by allowing agricultural cooperatives and local economies to survive and develop. As part of this approach, we are increasingly using organic and Fair For Life certified products.
Here nothing is lost, everything is transformed
At Landema, and more generally within the Biolandes Group, we do not like waste. Since its creation over 40 years ago, most of the production waste is recycled. Let's take the example of maritime pine from the Landes forest: initially used mainly for its wood and resin, the pine needles were waste. It was through their distillation that the Biolandes adventure began. The development of an innovative process has allowed the company to optimise its yield and profitability, and to reinvest in a complementary activity: the production of compost from the plant remains after distillation. The residues of the wood exploitation allow on the one hand the production of wood pellets for heating, and on the other hand feed the biomass boiler which is used to produce the steam necessary for the distillation. The latter is recycled in a closed circuit to avoid any waste or pollution - because even if they are natural, essential oils can be harmful to the environment because they are highly concentrated in active ingredients that can have biocidal effects.
