Methyl salicylate angelate

Methyl salicylate belongs to the ester family and is therefore recognized for having the following properties:

• Antispasmodic
• Neurotropic
• Muscle relaxing
• Anticonvulsant
• Anxiolytic
• Heart rhythm balancing
• Euphoric

Esters present no toxicity at usual doses. However, at high doses, acetates become epileptogenic and formates prove to be tachycardic.

Additionally, methyl salicylate can be carcinogenic, mutagenic, and toxic to reproduction.
