Production

Harvest

In a broad area of the Mediterranean basin, Cistus Labdanum grows wild. This remarkable shrub secretes resin in the summer to protect itself from evaporation during episodes of intense heat. Primarily harvested in southern Spain, the branches of the cistus are distilled or extracted to produce a wide variety of extracts.

Manufacturing

The integration of environmental and social principles into the sourcing policies of major perfumers, supported by the European Union and Spanish regional authorities, enabled our Spanish factory to invest in a labdanum cistus gum production unit operating in accordance with best practices in 2013. This unit ensures better control of the environmental and social aspects of Labdanum gum production.

Perfumery

Labdanum imparts a warm and ambery note with hints of wood and soft beeswax. Therefore, it can be used in various accords in both fine and functional perfumery. The absolute adds substantivity to the composition and also offers remarkable ambery notes in the base.
