Production

Harvest

The Peruvian balsam is the exudate of large trees endemic to a Central American region stretching from Guatemala to Nicaragua. However, the conditions necessary for balsam production only exist in a small area of El Salvador, in the highlands west of the capital San Salvador. The harvesting of Peruvian balsam occurs in successive phases: the bark is burned, and specific areas are covered with pieces of fabric that absorb the exudates. The fabric is then pressed, and the balsam is purified through boiling and filtering.

Manufacturing

We have developed a partnership with a supplier sourcing raw materials from local collectors in El Salvador to ensure the quality of the balsams purchased for distillation. The essential oil is manufactured in our workshops in France.
