Production

Harvest

Roman chamomile (Anthemis nobilis) is cultivated in European countries such as England, France, and Italy, as well as in warmer regions like Morocco. It is well known as a dried plant used for tea. Do not confuse it with German chamomile (also known as wild chamomile, Ormenis multicaulis). To produce this essential oil, Landema sources from a French producer of Roman chamomile essence.

Manufacturing

Landema's Roman chamomile essential oil is distilled in France. The fresh flowers are harvested in summer, and distillation occurs promptly to ensure the highest quality production. The yield is very low. The essential oil is potent and rich, both in scent and active molecules, making it a precious and highly valued oil in perfumery, cosmetics, and aromatherapy.

Perfumery

Its immediate fruity and fresh note reminiscent of pear brings a green, herbal touch. It can add surprising facets to marine accords and is well-suited to musky raw materials.

Cosmetics

Chamomile extracts are used in cosmetics in products such as baby lotions and creams. They are also included in formulations for delicate, irritated skin and in eye care products.
