Harvest
The cornflower is an annual plant native to Mediterranean regions. Its long gray-green stems bear flowers ranging in color from blue to violet. Today, farmers sow it in the spring following crop rotation cycles.
The cornflower is deeply rooted in European agricultural history. A symbol of connection to the land and nature, it was once considered a weed due to its ability to invade cereal fields.
However, over the centuries, it gained popularity for its soothing properties. During World War I, the cornflower became a symbol of remembrance in France, associated with wounded soldiers. This flower also grew in the mud of the trenches, bringing a touch of color to the devastated landscape. Today, it is also an emblem of biodiversity preservation in fields.
Plants distillated to produce our cornflower hydrosol are from organic farming.
Manufacturing
We work with local producers in the Drôme region, prioritizing short supply chains to ensure optimal quality control and strict traceability, from the harvest of the flower tops to the distillation process.
Our cornflowers are certified organic farming, allowing our cornflower hydrolate to be certified COSMOS. There is no cornflower essential oil.
