Lemon ORG
Citrus limon
Our organic lemon essential oil is highly valued in aromatherapy and cosmetics. Harvested and distilled in Italy. Quality and origin guaranteed.
Description
Lemon essential oil has many virtues and is a natural extract prized for many uses: perfumery, cosmetics, natural flavoring, aromatherapy, veterinary, household products, agriculture and gardening.
Like most citrus fruits (Citrus family), lemon essential oil, whose botanical name is Citrus limon, comes from the peel and is extracted mechanically, unlike other essential oils, which are obtained by distillation. It is therefore advisable to choose fruit from organic or sustainable agriculture, particularly for food use, to limit the risks associated with the possible presence of unwanted or even dangerous compounds, as essential oil is a highly concentrated form of natural extract, and in the case of zest, can also concentrate any treatment products, particularly pesticides. All our products sold for flavoring and food-grade use are controlled at this level, whether organic or not, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, particularly in terms of food safety.

Production
Harvest
The lemon tree is believed to be a very ancient hybrid of the citron tree and the bitter orange tree, originating from Asia. It is cultivated for its fruit, the lemon, in Mediterranean and subtropical regions. Its essential oil is obtained by cold expression of the outer part of the fruit peel, as is done for citrus fruits.
Manufacturing
Landema offers its organic lemon essential oil sourced from an Italian essential oil producer. It is a by-product of the lemon juice and syrup food industry. The essential oil is obtained by scraping and squeezing the zest. Good food practices are respected throughout the chain. Controls are carried out in our laboratories in France to guarantee quality and food grade.

Food flavor
- Desserts: A few drops can be added to lemon tarts, cakes, creams and sorbets to enhance the citrus aroma.
- Drinks: Used in iced teas, cocktails and lemonades to add a fresh, tangy note.
- Sweets : Lemon essential oil pleasantly scents candies, dry cakes and macaroons.
- Cooking: Lemon essential oil is often used in dishes or sauces with fish or seafood, to bring a lemony note, subtle or intense depending on the dosage and the desired effect, without acidity.
Our lemon essential oil, a 100% pure and natural concentrated extract, is very interesting for a usage as food flavor, for several reasons:
- économic: very concentrated, a few drops are enough. Direct producer, more compact to transport than whole fruit or diluted aroma. No loss or waste.
- practical: long shelf life, avoids market seasonality and fruit preparation time
- creative possibilities: allows intense tastes, without the alcoholic or aqueous support of diluted aromatics, without the acidity of fruit or the bitterness of zest, and blends of essential oils are possible to create unique fragrances and aromatics - create your signature products!
- sécurisé: certified food-grade and laboratory-controlled. Fruit zests can be a nasty surprise on the market, and even in organic farming the absence of pesticides or phthalates is not guaranteed, so the only way to be sure is to have them analyzed in a laboratory - we do it for you.

Usage tips
Manual:
Usage as food flavor : :
Not soluble in water, dilute in the fat of the preparation, or on an alcoholic base (e.g. rum), or in a syrup. There are no toxicological restrictions. From a practical point of view, the dosage is around 8 to 10 drops to replace a whole lemon peel. For a well-flavored preparation, it could be 20 drops per kilo. Adjust to taste. For a crème patissière or flan, it's best to use 2 to 6 drops per liter. You can also use it in cooked dishes or sauces, especially for fish or seafood. Be creative, and don't hesitate to try out other essential oils for original flavors! Lemon essential oil contains no listed food allergens, but it is rich in limonene, which is a cosmetic allergen, so handle with care. In principle, in food doses, the risk of drug interactions or reactions is low, but it's a good idea to warn sensitive or allergic people, especially if doses are "high".
