Native to the Mediterranean basin, marigold (Calendula officinalis) is an annual plant with long, fuzzy, gray stems that can reach 30 to 50 centimeters in height, topped with orange-yellow flower heads. The flowers are handpicked and bloom from early spring until the arrival of winter.
