Production
Harvest
The young oak trees grow in Macedonia and Morocco between 600 and 1100 meters in altitude. Their lichen, a combination of an algae and a fungus traditionally referred to as 'moss' in perfumery, is collected in the fall and spring. It is sorted from pieces of wood bark that may be mixed during collection. The lichens are then dried and pressed before being transported to the factories.
Manufacturing
Landema offers a range of oakmoss natural extracts with low atranol content, compliant with IFRA and the European Cosmetics Regulation, thanks to our proprietary manufacturing process. The transformation of oakmoss concrete takes place in our facilities.
