Opoponax resinoid obtained from the natural gum-resin of Commiphora erythraea—harvested in Somalia after trunk incision and maturation into irregular tears or dark brown masses—then processed in France at our main facility using an extraction process tailored to exudative materials. It delivers a balsamic-vanillic signature with liqueur-like, toffee, and woody nuances. A sought-after base ingredient in fine perfumery, it acts as a base-note amplifier, increasing density and longevity without weighing down the top; it lends the composition a vanilla-toffee softness and brings body and depth for a generous, comfortable sillage. Ideal for structuring and rounding out many olfactive families, it pairs particularly well with ambery and oriental, leathery and woody, as well as warm florals.
