Production
Harvest
Peppermint is a natural hybrid resulting from the cross between water mint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata). It is cultivated in many regions worldwide, including Europe, North America, and Asia.
Its high menthol content gives the characteristic flavor to "fresh mint" toothpaste and chewing gum, as well as "icy mint" syrups.
Known for its refreshing and stimulating properties, peppermint was already used by the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans for its benefits on digestion and overall well-being.
Peppermint requires rich soils, a temperate climate, and meticulous agricultural management to produce a high-quality essential oil.
Our organic peppermint essential oil comes from a carefully selected American partner, ensuring production that meets organic farming standards. We prioritize a reliable supply chain.
Manufacturing
We source this premium-quality, organically certified peppermint essential oil from a trusted American partner. India is another major producer of peppermint essential oil, but caution is required regarding quality and the reliability of organic certification.
Peppermint essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of freshly harvested flowering tops. This process extracts the most valuable aromatic molecules while preserving the integrity of volatile compounds.
The distillation begins with the introduction of the flowering tops into a still, where they are exposed to steam. The heat opens the cells of the leaves and flowers, releasing their aromatic essences. This steam, now carrying the essential oil, is then directed to a water-cooled condenser. As it liquefies, the mixture of floral water and essential oil naturally separates: the lighter oil floats to the surface and is collected through decantation in a separator.
Finally, the essential oil is carefully filtered before being stored in opaque containers to preserve its freshness, powerful aroma, and properties.

Food flavor
Our peppermint essential oil can be used as a food flavouring. It is typically used to make syrups, drinks, confectionery, chocolates, pastries and even gourmet cuisine. A single drop is all it takes to flavour a large quantity of food, adding powerful flavours with no extra calories and 100% natural.
As a reminder, essential oils are not water-soluble, so it may be useful to use a food emulsifier such as Solubol. Otherwise, dilute in a small quantity of syrup before mixing well with the drink or aqueous phase. For sauces or pastries, mix into the fat in the preparation. You can combine several essential oils to create powerful, unique flavours and create original signature dishes that evoke memorable tastes and emotions that will leave a lasting impression on your guests !
