Peppermint Organic COSMOS
Description
Peppermint (Mentha × piperita) is a natural hybrid of watermint and spearmint. Recognised by its dark green leaves and small purple flowers, this perennial plant with a peppery, camphoraceous fragrance can reach 90 cm in height. Native to Europe and the Middle East, it is now cultivated worldwide. The hydrolate distributed by Landema is produced from plants selected from local partner producers in France. It holds organic COSMOS certification.
This hydrolate is used in tonic lotions, facial mists and body care products. It serves as an aqueous phase in emulsions or as a hydrophilic active in formulations designed for combination to oily skin.
We add a Géogard® preservative to this peppermint hydrolate to prevent bacterial growth and extend its stability. It is not suitable for food use.

Harvest
Peppermint is a natural hybrid resulting from the crossbreeding of water mint and spearmint. Originating from Europe and the Middle East, it is now cultivated in many regions around the world, particularly in humid areas. The plant, which can reach up to 90 cm, is easily recognizable by its small purple flowers and dark green leaves with a peppery and camphor-like scent. Although rarely used in cooking due to its intense flavor, it has numerous applications in herbal medicine and perfumery, with harvest typically occurring between May and June.
