Production
Harvest
Native to Europe, the poplar is a fast-growing tree commonly found in lowland and humid areas, where the soil is rich in moisture. Black poplar, in particular, is mainly cultivated for its wood, valued in the production of crates and various wooden items. However, it is in its buds that natural treasures are truly hidden: these young shoots are covered with protective scales that contain a resinous substance with balsamic notes, rich in valuable aromatic compounds.
Manufacturing
To offer this signature poplar bud absolute, we select buds carefully harvested in Eastern Europe.
The absolute is obtained using a natural process known as volatile solvent extraction. This method involves the use of a gentle solvent that dissolves the aromatic substances found in the buds—particularly resins, waxes, and volatile compounds.
After maceration, the solvent is evaporated under vacuum at low temperature, preserving the full aromatic richness and olfactory finesse of the raw material without altering its delicate components.
This exclusive expertise yields a dense absolute, rich in aroma, with a velvety texture and the warm, characteristic notes of poplar buds. The process respects the plant’s integrity and fully showcases its valuable natural constituents.
