Production
Harvest
Thymes are Mediterranean shrubs comprising multiple varieties. The most common is "common thyme," rich in essential oil. Several chemotypes are cultivated for essential oil production, named according to their principal component: thyme with thymol, thyme with thuyanol, thyme with linalool.
Manufacturing
The essential oil of thyme with thuyanol is produced in France, from thyme cultivated in Provence, in the same terroirs as lavenders and lavandins.
