Production
Harvest
Thymes are Mediterranean shrubs comprising multiple varieties. The most common is "common thyme," rich in essential oil. Several chemotypes are cultivated for the production of essential oils, named according to their main component: thyme with thymol, thyme with thuyanol, thyme with linalool.
Manufacturing
The essential oil of thyme with thymol is produced in France, from thyme cultivated in Provence, in the same regions as lavender and lavandins.
