Harvest
True lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) is an iconic plant of the Mediterranean regions. Grown for nearly 70 years in Bulgaria, it has perfectly acclimated to the conditions of this country, resembling the landscapes of Haute-Provence. Clonal plants, originally from France, thrive in rich soils and a favorable climate, ensuring a superior harvest.
Our organic plantations in Bulgaria are managed with particular attention to biodiversity and respect for natural cycles. Additionally, we collaborate with local farmers who share our values, allowing us to distill the fresh flowers in our factory immediately after harvest. This proximity between cultivation and production is essential for preserving the active ingredients and authenticity of the oil.
Manufacturing
The production of true organic lavender essential oil is based on a traditional steam distillation method.
The first phase begins with the harvest, carried out during June and July. The flowers, carefully cut, are immediately transported to our distillery to prevent any degradation. There, they are placed in modern stills designed to extract the aromatic molecules while preserving their olfactory complexity.
Steam gently passes through the flowers, releasing their precious essential oils. This method allows for the separation of the essential oil from the hydrosol, or floral water, which also contains beneficial components. After distillation, the oil is carefully filtered and analyzed to ensure its purity and compliance. Each batch is traced and documented to provide full transparency.
