Production
Harvest
Native to Australia, the niaouli is a small evergreen tree belonging to the Melaleuca family, which includes tea tree and cajeput. It is cultivated along the East Coast of Madagascar for energy purposes and the wood industry. Its young branches are collected during the rainy season, and steam distillation of the leaves produces an essential oil rich in cineole.
Manufacturing
The niaouli is cultivated and distilled by a Malagasy farming family with whom we have a longstanding partnership. Their plantation is located in the Moramanga region. All products grown on the Moramanga farm are organic, and a portion is FFL certified.
