Bornyl acetate is part of the terpene ester family and is therefore recognized for its properties:

  • Neurotropic antispasmodic
  • Calming and sedative
  • Antihypertensive
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Analgesic

At therapeutic doses, terpene esters do not present toxicity. However, ensure to dilute highly concentrated essential oils containing terpene esters for long-term topical administration on very sensitive skin.
