Growing
Herbaceous plant belonging to the Lamiaceae family, native to South Asia, basilic was imported to Egypt at least 4,000 years ago and is predominantly cultivated as an aromatic and culinary herb. It is a hardy plant with fragrant foliage that, despite being cultivated worldwide, remains associated with Mediterranean and Asian cuisine.
By distilling the aerial parts of the plant with steam, we obtain the essential oil of Ocimum basilicum L.

Cosmetics
Extracts of basilic are used in the formulation of cosmetic products such as masks and hair care. The freshness they provide is utilized in skincare for tired and mature skin
Perfumery
The cold, green, vegetal note (characteristic of freshly cut Thai basil) brought by the essential oil of Ocimum basilicum L reinforces the spicy touch and suggests tarragon.
