Description
Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum), also known as immortelle, is a small herbaceous plant typical of Mediterranean areas: Corsica, Italy, Croatia. It owes its nickname to the remarkable longevity of its flowers, which retain their yellow colour even after harvesting, a symbol of eternity in many Mediterranean cultures. The plant thrives in dry soils and is harvested in full bloom, usually in June. The hydrolate distributed by Landema is produced at our manufacturing unit in Valréas, France, from organic raw materials rigorously selected from local producers. It holds organic COSMOS certification.
This hydrolate is used in lotions and cosmetic formulations. It serves as an aqueous phase in emulsions or as a hydrophilic active.
Thanks to the addition of Geogard® preservative, this helichrysum hydrosol remains stable for longer by limiting bacterial growth. Not for food use.

Production
Harvest
Everlasting sandy, also known as immortelle, is a small herbaceous plant typical of Mediterranean regions such as Corsica, Italy, and Croatia. It can be harvested in the wild or cultivated and thrives particularly well in dry soils. Harvesting takes place during full bloom, usually in June. The flowering tops are steam distilled immediately after harvest to produce the organic hydrolate.
Everlasting sandy / Immortelle owes its name to the longevity of its flowers, which remain yellow even after harvesting. Used since antiquity for its healing properties, it symbolizes eternity and immortality in many Mediterranean cultures.
