Ambrette
Description
Ambrette essential oil (Hibiscus abelmoschus) is one of the most precious oils in perfumery and aromatherapy, thanks to its musky, woody, and spicy notes. This oil, obtained from the plant's seeds, has a unique buttery texture that sets it apart from other essential oils. Mainly cultivated in specific regions such as Ecuador, Laos, and Peru, ambrette essential oil is a high-quality product, prized by perfume creators and high-end cosmetic artisans. This 100% natural product stands out for its complex fragrance and versatility, offering a wide range of applications in perfumery, aromatherapy, and even in cooking.
This product has a butter-like texture. To facilitate its use, gentle heating is recommended depending on its consistency:
• For pasty products or those that are difficult to handle at room temperature, you can either heat them slightly (e.g., in a water bath or dry oven) or use them directly with suitable utensils, such as spatulas.
Avoid exposing the product to high temperatures (do not exceed 40°C) to preserve all its natural properties. Once warmed or prepared, ensure you use clean utensils for transferring or applying it.
Note: For technical reasons, the vial used for the 1mL packaging has a capacity of approximately 4mL, so it is normal for it to appear about one-quarter full. The packaging is carried out using precise and calibrated laboratory equipment.

Growing
Ambrette is a tropical perennial plant belonging to the Malvaceae family. Native to the warm, humid regions of Asia and South America, it requires very specific growing conditions to develop its aromatic potential. This is why it is mainly cultivated in countries such as Ecuador, Laos, Peru and India, where the high temperatures and humidity create an environment favorable to the plant's growth.
Ambrette seeds are harvested several times a year, between March and November, during specific harvest cycles. These seeds are rich in fatty acids, which give the essential oil its "buttery" texture. Once harvested, the seeds are carefully sorted to ensure the quality of the oil, which is then distilled to extract its most precious aromatic components.
Fabrication
Once the seeds are harvested, they are transported to our distillation facilities in France. There, they undergo a direct steam distillation process, a method that efficiently extracts the active ingredients while preserving the integrity of the aromatic molecules. This distillation is carried out under precise conditions to ensure that the oil retains all its organoleptic qualities: its scent and beneficial properties.
